I love foot massages. And when you love your feet being touched, its almost mandatory that you keep them touchably smooth. But this does not have to mean a trip for a pedicure every month!
I’ve developed cracks in my feet and dry soles and I yearned to have my soft and smooth feet back. A bit research led me to this wonderful Listerine and Vinegar Foot Soak.
Listerine and Vinegar Foot Soak Recipe
You will need:
- 1 cup listerine
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 2 cups warm water
To make the foot soak:
- Pour all the ingredients into a shallow bath and soak feet for 15 – 20 minutes and just relax while your feet soak.
2. After removing feet from the soak, you may need to use a stone or foot file to get off the dead skin that may not have “wiped right off”
3. Dry your feet then massage them with a little bit of olive oil and viola – beautiful feet for the summer!
Basically, vinegar is an acid that changes the ph of things. Listerine (or any similar knock off) contributes eucalyptus, menthol and a salicylate to the mix and together with vinegar creates a liquid pleasure.
This DIY cocktail not only cleans and disinfects, but breaks the protein bonds that hold dead skin cells together and as a result the toughest calluses are easily buffed away.
